The bridge opened in December 2012. It runs for about 100 metres at about 3,041 metres above sea level, and the ground falls away about 500 metres beneath it. The deck is steel mesh, so you can see down through your feet.
Getting to it from the summit station
You do not need a separate ticket or a booking. From the summit station:
- Step out of the station onto the glacier side.
- Follow the secured path across the glacier. It is a short walk to the start of the bridge.
- Cross, then turn round and come back the same way: the bridge is a there-and-back walk.
The path is packed snow and ice, even in summer. Wear shoes with grip, and keep your gloves on for the handrail.
When it closes
The Cliff Walk shuts when the weather turns. Strong wind, ice on the deck and storms close it on the day, and every tour that includes it says "weather permitting". It is the most exposed place you can stand on Titlis.
What to do about it: look at the summit forecast the day before, and book a fare you can cancel free up to 24 hours ahead. If it is shut when you arrive, the Glacier Cave and the terrace are right beside the station. The 2026 works on the summit station do not close the bridge. The dates that do change your visit are on the seasonal schedule.

Walk in the middle, look at the far end rather than down, and cross on a calm day. You lose nothing if you stop at the first few metres and take your photos from there.

Children cross with you on the same deck. Keep them close, and turn back together if a cold, excited child freezes halfway.

Even on a warm day in Lucerne, it is winter up here. Put your layers on before you leave the station, not halfway across.
Which tours give you time for it
How long you get at the top decides whether the Cliff Walk fits. Crossing and coming back is quick, but the queue for photos on a busy day is not. In 2026 Best of Switzerland Tours limit summit visits to about an hour, which still leaves you time for the bridge if you go there first.
