What that means in practice

The tours listed here are sold by Viator and GetYourGuide. When you follow a link from one of these pages and go on to book, the platform pays us a share of its own commission. You pay the same fare either way; the price on the booking page is the operator's price, not a marked-up one. A ticket you buy at the valley station counter in Engelberg earns us nothing.

What we are not

We are not a tour operator or a ticket office. We do not run any of these tours, employ any of these guides or hold your booking. Your contract is with the operator, through the platform.

We have no connection with TITLIS Bergbahnen, Engelberg-Titlis Tourismus, SBB, Switzerland Tourism or any tour operator. The cableway's names, timetables and fares are theirs.

How tours get listed and badged

Operators cannot pay for placement, position or a badge. Our badges are measurable claims: Top rated goes to a rating of 4.9 or higher from at least 10 reviews, Best seller to the tour with the most reviews, and Best value to the cheapest fare. Best value is not used here, because the cheapest fare is the cableway's own ticket, which buys the cable car and nothing else; setting it against guided days would mislead. Some Best of Switzerland days and the cableway's own ticket are sold on both platforms, and each listing appears on its own because each is separately bookable and priced.

The featured tours at the top of the homepage are three different ways up from three starting points: the guided day from Zurich, the guided half day from Lucerne, and the cableway's own return ticket from Engelberg.

Prices, ratings and how current they are

Prices, star ratings and review counts belong to the operators and were taken from their own listings on 25 September 2026. They move, and the figure at checkout is the one that counts. Every tour fare is quoted in US dollars because that is the currency the listings were captured in; nothing is converted at an exchange rate. Where a listing ran a time-limited discount, the regular fare is shown. The cableway's own fares are quoted in Swiss francs, as it publishes them. Every fare here is per person, including the private days, whose per-person fare falls as the group grows.

The summit station's height, the cable car fares, the pass discounts, the opening hours, the Ice Flyer's hours and the Rotair closure come from the Engelberg-Titlis tourist office's published cableway pages; train times from the Swiss public transport timetable; the abbey's tour times and prices from Engelberg Abbey; and the weather figures from MeteoSwiss's stations on Titlis and in Engelberg. Where a detail comes from an operator's listing, such as a meeting point, a group size, the time at the top or the one-hour summit limit in 2026, it belongs to that tour, and we say whose it is.

What we deliberately do not publish

Winter 2026-27 lift dates. The cableway's winter timetable for the coming season was not yet published when we last checked, so the seasonal schedule gives summer dates and last winter's Ice Flyer hours only.
A running time for each cable car. No official page we read states it; we quote the tourist office's figure of about 30 minutes for the whole ride up.
A Glacier Cave depth of 20 metres. One listing gives that figure; the tourist office puts the cave about 10 metres under the glacier surface, and that is the one we print.
A telephone number. No official page we read publishes one, so none is printed.
A queue you skip. Some listings use skip-the-line wording. What they sell is a prebooked ticket, which saves the ticket counter, not the queue for the cable car.
A train fare in the small-group days. Their listings name the cable car and the guide, not the train ticket, so we never say the train is included.
The highest peak in the Bernese Oberland. One listing says so; Titlis is in the Uri Alps, on the border of Obwalden and Bern.
Any sight as certainly open. The Glacier Cave, the Cliff Walk and the chairlift close for heat, wind and ice, so we say "weather permitting" where the operators do.
